Counselling for couples
I work with couples experiencing a breakdown in their relationship and with couples that would like to address unresolved issues.
Psychotherapy for individuals
I work in a traditional way, sitting and talking through difficulties, and if
the client wishes to, I will bring in some creative approaches.
I have encountered a broad range of issues that have
brought people into therapy over a period of 20 years working in a variety of settings including at St. George's Hospital; The Priory, Roehampton; in GP's surgeries; in a Medium Secure Unit and in
Private Practice.
I invite inquiries from people who have reached a point in their life where they are fed up with feeling bad or miserable. Or from people
who are wanting to think more about their personal relationships.
I work also with people needing support and
understanding for feelings of anxiety, depression, suicidal feelings, self-harm and unknown feelings of discontent. I am very interested in people who feel lost or stuck in their bereavement and other losses such as the breakdown of a
relationship.
I have a particular interest in those who struggle and feel at odds with their body, including those with eating disorders and feelings of being fat and inner turmoil. Those who feel that they are driven by needs and impulses that are contrary to how they want to be. Psychotherapy and Drama Therapy can be helpful for people to gain an awareness of these conflicts and provides a space where a deep exploration of the self can begin to happen.
I am a tutor on the Foundation training at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling.
